Justin Shaw (Washington, D.C., USA)

Justin

Justin’s training is in Mathematics. But lately, he has been enamored with interacting with the “real world.” After experimenting briefly with the Basic Stamp and PIC micro “If Arduino can do it, there is no easier way.”controllers, he came across the Arduino platform and has never looked back.

Anool J M (Mumbai, India)

Engineer by profession (test & measurement + Video Conferencing), dabbler in Astronomy, Origami, Photography, General Tinkering, DiY, and of course Cycling. He braves the roads and streets daily on his bicycle commute to work, which is quite rare (practically unheard of) in Mumbai. You can witness his harrowing commute here.
Projects:Somehow, between all of his hobbies and cycling, he manages to discuss and create original Open Source circuit boards and projects. As a master of digital design, Anool is the driving force behind ClockTHREE.

Projects :

  • All Projects – Hardware Design

Shyama Mandal (Washington D.C., USA)

ShyamaI grew up in rural India and now live in the DC metro area. I am an EE and CS engineer by education, software engineer and an executive by profession and a mathematician by passion. My love of mathematics is unmatched by the aptitude in it.

I am a big proponent of teaching and learning math in a fun manner. Towards that goal, I spend time designing and building tools for math instruction with some other math geeks.

Projects:

  • All Projects – Technical consultant

Liz (Washington, D.C., USA)

LizzyWhen she is not doing math in the morning (AKA MITM) or assembling electronics, Elizabeth is riding her bike or distance running. Her favorite magazine is “The New Scientist” which she reads religiously. She wants to be become a lot of different things including: a microbiologist, a environmental scientist, an endurance runner, and a DiY hacker extrordinaire!

Projects:

  • ClockTHREE – Spokesperson, Solderer, etc
  • SharkFin – Product tester

Emily (Washington, D.C., USA)

Emo

Emily currently is a nerd-in-training at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science Projects: and Technology where she is studying computer science and circuitry. In her spare time she loves to read and investigate the wave-particle duality as well as play with super conductivity. On this project, she has volunteered to help us assemble and test ClockTHREE kits.

  • ClockTHREE – Kit assembly and testing
  • BEBL – Product testing

Hearsh (Mumbai, India)

HearshHearsh is studying for a Computer Engineering Diploma and will be moving to his last (sixth) semester soon. Hearsh loves programming in languages like C++ and Java and likes to build and program robots.

Projects:

  • ClockTHREE – Clock building/DiY feedback

Adam Witten (New York, USA)

AdamAdam lives and works in New York City, where he splits his time between filmmaking, creative tomfoolery, indulging in geeky hobbies and doing his chores. As a filmmaker Adam has made short and experimental films in and around the east coast of the United States. Some of these films found their way into festivals and film markets around the world. It was through his filmmaking that he was introduced to advertising. Having been lucky enough to participate in some very cool campaigns for Converse, Scion and other clients, which blurred the line between content and advertising, Adam continues to be at the vanguard of advertising and filmmaking. Adam’s disarming visual style brings an arresting sincerity to his ads and films.

Projects:

  • ClockTHREE – Creative Inputs and Awesome Video

Margaret Shaw (Cheyenne, WY, USA)

MomI was born the winter of 1946, after my besainted mother cooked and presented Christmas dinner. Too early? okay. My deal is that I like to be in on cool stuff like ClockThree. They let me toss in the occasional comma. As a retired junior high/middle school teacher, I enjoy being in the midst of creative activity. The whole point is to try things and have fun, I say.

Right now I am taking a couple of online courses in writing and editing a friend’s book about metaphysical principles, not to mention working out a new (for me) way to crochet and trying not to give in to Mahjong Titans all the time.

Projects:

  • All Projects – Editor-in-Chief

David Pincus (Sydney, Australia)

DavidBorn in Northern Virginia, David graduated from Duke University with degrees in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering. Ten years ago he moved to Sydney with his company and is now proud to call himself an ‘Aussie’. When not taking photographs and blowing bubbles underwater, David spends his days as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and nights as an inventor and tinkerer.

Projects:

  • SharkFin
  • ClockTHREE

Christian Aschoff (Ulm, Germany)

ChristianChristian was born 1968 and studied micro mechanics. After working for about 10 years as a game programmer, he started working for the university of ulm where he develop web based information systems.

“I like tinkering, cooking, playing tennis and old fraktur’-books that I digitize

Brian Krontz (New York City, USA)

After a couple stints in the military as a bomb nerd, Brian decided to join the outside world and found his home in IT. When he’s not at the server farm, he’s at peace soldering or taking pictures of dance, food, and now ClockTHREE! He is very grateful for the opportunity to donate his creative input as a photographer to the projects from the brilliant minds at WyoLum!

Projects:

  • ClockTHREE

Vincent-Gabriel Vallée (Quebec, Canada)

I’m a civil and software engineer from Gatineau, QC. I mostly program in C# and JavaScript in the field of weather-related civil engineering. I’m now getting interested in electronics and the DIY scene as a mean to create unique pieces.

Kevin (Boston, Massachusetts)

Having started life in the flatlands of Kansas, Kevin feels more comfortable surrounded by trees. He started messing around with computers when they were still in big buildings and soon after college was making office appliances, video games, and enterprise software. He works researching Augmented Reality by day, and spends his nights creating open source electronics and programming them. His passion is to enable others to create bizarre, wonderful and geeky things!

Projects:

Jishnu (Oman)

Hails from Kolkata (Eastern India) and is an Engineer by qualification in Printing branch from Pune University- Jishnu lives and works in Muscat – Sultanate of Oman. Recently he acquired a hobby of writing programs for an open source
electronics hardware like Arduino, Raspberry PI and AlaMode.

He considered himself a beginner. Hence after work and on weekends, he spends long hours experimenting and programming open source hardware and documenting them in his personal diary which accompanies with him even during his frequent business trips to abroad. When Jishnu volunteered to write a User Manual for AlaMode, we could not pass up that golden opportunity, especially since he was the first discover a solution to a real-time-clock issue we had experienced.

Projects: Alamode, more to come…

Nick (LA)

Nick was born in the UK and grew up with an Electronics Engineer as a Father. This led him to a PhD in chemistry (obviously!), which he uses daily in his quest to find drugs for Cancer and other disease. However, after building his first stereo system from kits at the age of 17 he was hooked on the smell of hot flux and putting circuit boards together. Discovering the wonderful warm glow of Nixie Tubes many years later and building more nixie clocks than any man has a reasonable need for, his attention has turned to other clock based electronics, especially WiseClock. Enter ClockThree and the start of a relationship with WyoLum which has lead him to join the team and help out in anyway he can.

Projects: ClockTHREE, ClockTHREEjr
